Finally starting my build thread, I have been working on this for over a year. I started off on August 2009 when i broke off my 220 sps and bought a 195 Lee Mar, thinking that it would be an fast and easy upgrade...wrong!! Over a year later i finally completed the set up.

Heres the new tank specs:

195 LeeMar Starfire 64x32x22 with custom stand.
48" Sfiligio XR4 2x400, 4x54watt T5, with 6x moonlight.
BK Alpha 250 skimmer with Avast Marine Swabbie.
Avast Marine, Davy Jones waste collector large.
ATB Flowstar 3200 return.
Schuran calcium reactor with Cole-Palmer MasterFlex dosing pump.
1/3HP Teco SeaChill Chiller TR20
Apex Controller with EB8 and 2x DC8, IO
Geo Kalk Reactor
Precision Marine media reactor.
Litermeter 3
4x MP40ES and 2x MP40W gen 2

I think thats is.. now here some lousy pictures.. i got ZERO skills with the camera.. I have a good camera, but lousy shots. bare with me.. I hope to learn how to take decent pictures one day.

Heres a shot last year when the tank was first moved in.

Any plans on setting up the Chiller outside in the future?
I had my chiller in my living area and the noise and heat were too much to handle.

Very very nice...

Is that a Sfiligoi fixture? how hot does it run and what wattage is it?

I have a Teco chiller in my home reef and gonna need to buy a Teco chiller for my 240g office reef, what size chiller are you running?

Nice job!

Nice job!

One of the best cable management systems I've seen - very clean

+1 and a big shout out for Tracy! I'm from San Jose and one of my best friends lives in Tracy.

What is the gray "thingy" you are hiding the wires in and where can I get it?

Your aquascaping, tank and sump are all impressive!

caliking, thanks. I would love to place the chiller out side, but behind the wall is the yard. No place to put it. I had similar problem with my previous set up. my halide would turn on, then my chiller, then my house AC. The house was alway hot. But this time, my tank is open top, so the hear from the light disipate before hitting the water. i'm also planning on adding a fan to do more evaporative cooling.. hopefully it works.

KMU, the chiller is a Teco TR20 1/3 hp with a built in heater. Its pretty much set up and forget it temp controller.

Cubeman, thanks.. I know hiding the cables is hard. this is the best i could find.

Rotknee, thanks, the cable management is Panduit cable duct. its available in grainger.com Just have to figure out the size you'll need. if your ever around, stop by anytime..

Ed, thank you for the info. The Panduit cable management system is perfect for my needs. I have a simular amount of hardware in my sump. What size (height and width) are you using?

I think we have the same skimmer as well. I've been really thinking about the Avast cleaning system you have. How do you like it?

Again, thank you in advance for your help.

Rodney

Rodney, I havent really tested the avast skimmer cleaner yet, but their quality and customer service is top notch.. Justin is really responsive and open to ideas. i sure is something goes wrong, he'll take care of you.

I think mine is the 1 1/4 x1 1/4. its really easy to install and nice to be able to add and remove cables without cutting any tie wraps.

Looks great. I can see why it took a year. Everything is sooooo neat. I'm following with interest as i have an almost similar tank i'm filling as we speak. Look at my tank journal (red house)

cheers

Aaron

This is an amazing set up! Now that I see under the hood I love it even more and I can tell you planned very well. Btw subscribed! :)

Thanks Aareon, yeah i see we have similar dimensions. I'm liking this dimension, gives me more room to play around. My frag tank is is alot smaller though, i have 36x24x12.

afernandez, thanks.. i had time to play with some ideas. I wanted to have the system set up sooner. But we just had a little boy, so we have been focusing on the little guy. Now hes a little bigger, i have a little time to work on it. Looks like i you beat me by three weeks.. I see your 60 is just set up as well. What method are you using for cycling? any advice?

Saw this tank on the minimalist thread. Just wanted to jump over here and follow along. Everything is so clean and well thought out, you and your team there are just amazing!!!!!

I really like the look of this build. Although I might be biased, as I'm setting up a 205 LeeMar now! :) What are your stocking plans for it?

thanks Henry. It helps alot to have good friends. :)

Fish4Me2, congrats on the Leemar. I always wanted one, but was nervous on having a large glass tank. Now that its up, i was amaze on the quality and clarity. im pretty happy on the way it turned out.

ecupcar, trust me. I got zero patience. haha if it was up to me, i wanted to set it up the same month that i got it. But we just had a boy and wanted to spend time with him instead. but im glad i took my time, got to spend quality time with my boy and properly build the tank.. its a win, win for me..

just got my Apex online last night.. added a Netgear gaming adapter and followed the apex set up.

This will come in handy when I'm away from home.
