Eel + Mantis?

This may prove to be an incredibly stupid question, but we'll see :D I have a cube tank that I would like to set up and I cannot decide if I want to put my wennerae in there or my golden dwarf moray in it. So, I got the bright idea today to see if I could put them both in there? The eel is maybe 8" long and while it does eat crustaceans it has not bothered the peppermint shrimp, cleaner shrimp, or any other crustacean it encounters, it prefers its mysis and krill to live food I guess. So, what do you guys think? Can I safely house my mantis and eel together? I do not want harm to come to either, but I do think it'd be cool to have them both in one tank :D Thanks for any help you can give :)

The tank is a 2' cube...so somewhere around 30 gallons I'm guessing, as it's not very tall (13").

hmmm im guessing that you should at least get the mantis out of the tiny tank its in and into a bigger tank, that 2.5 is slowly killing it, and im not sure how aggressive the wen's are but if they are like a peacock that eel will be dead in no time

The wenn has been in that tank for about 3 days now...he's about 1" so I think he's ok until I get the cube up and running ;) I guess I'll just leave the eel where he's at then, I don't want anyone to get hurt.

oo sorry from what i read it sounded like the cube was the home for the eel and you were going to keep the mantis in there only if it would work,

That's ok :)
Here's how the current situation is:
2.5 gallon pico - housing 1" mantis shrimp for now (I think wennerae)
30 gallon breeder - housing 8" golden dwarf moray eel
~30 gallon cube tank: empty...mantis, eel, or mantis and eel?
