Eel Search is Over, Got a Dragon

Heres my 2 cents on Dragons my buddy in Tampa has 9 of them in 280 gallon they were model citizens for about 2 years after that they detroyed anything that hit the water. We caught 2 large queen triggers and put them in there and the triggers died from stress. The eels became so aggressive that they started biting each other. It was unsafe to stick your hand in the tank. He had them for over 5 years finally started selling them off one by one I was going to buy one for 400 but decided not due to there aggression. I know this is only one case but from seeing them in action nothing is safe with them.

I don't want to sound too negative, but I think that maybe a second FOWLER might be the best option for you, vegasr, because you seem to enjoy other fish so much. I believe after reading the whole thread, that perhaps the dragon would be a happy little prince in his own tank and the second tank can house the rest of your beautiful water column swimmers.

The bottom line is that you could have said no to the purple tang and maybe (I'm not making judgment) should have since the power play in your tank is not fully written. While I completely understand that it's exciting and fun to get a great fish deal, we have to take into account the best interest of the animals as well.

If you are truly interested in the advice that other posters can give you, try to give your contributors the impression that you're listening or they'll stop helping. When you asked about the tang, it wasn't advised and you did it anyway (I think the same was true for the blue jaw).

Please don't take this as an insult. I don't post often out of fear of the fights that start on RC but your eel is gorgeous, and so are the lion and trigger. I only hope that you can find a way to keep them all happy and enjoy them.

Thanks hikarishadoe, very sound advice. I am working on getting a 175gal at the moment. If I do, then I can keep the Dragon in his current home and move all the other fish in the bigger tank.

Going real good with an harmonious sense to all the innhabitants. The Dragon eel and Lion don't give each other a second thought, the purple tang is doing awesome as well.
I did end up getting a 175gal tank thats currently in my garage so will be setting that up in the near future. Will probably leave the eel in the 115g and maybe add a second eel, and then put the others in the 175 so I can get a few more fish.
Will take some updated pics today.
