Ok, i went to lowes to try to get some eggcrate, i looked all over and couldn't find any. With no suprise, the guy i asked didn't know what i was talking about. What section is this usually located in?

It's in the lighting section.

It is used for flourescent lighting and comes in panels of white or chrome

Look around the appliance department, thats where it is kept in our store, yes with the ceiling lights/drop ceilings, but not in electrtical!

At my Lowes it is with the drop ceiling panels. I did the same thing........didn't think I would ever find it!

Yeah at our store here, the drop ceiling supplies are in with the appliances! Who knows why! I know that when you are shopping for appliances, you might think about doing a drop ceiling! :lol: Oh well!

Could anyone tell me whether a 150 MH in fixtuer with a glass cover could melt or disform eggcrate frame. I'm thinking of placing a MH fixture with legs on an eggcrate? Thanks

What find of kind/brand of fixture? Does it have cooling fans?

How close is the eggcrate going to be?

Either a coralife or Current USA. Both have fans and I expect it to
be 4-5 inches - the leng of the legs. Thanks

sorry to hijack, but would MH lights melt acrylic? i want to design a lighting box. it will have 2 fans on one side and a tube depositing the heat on the other(bascially weathersons design). it would most likely be 3/8" thick. that or i might use plexi-glass.
