Elegance Coral over inflation - Please Help

Hi Guys

So about an hour ago my Elegance Coral suddenly started to inflate like a disc/balloon for no reason. I it was open normally for 6 hours of the light cycle and then it just stated to inflate.

I did a water change yesterday to lower my nitrates (elegance had no problem when the nitrate levels was around 25). I tested my water today and Nitrate was around 10 - 15.

Now after the coral inflated and deflated twice it pulled back its polyps and now its not opening again.

I have three hammer coral that are open fully and another elegance coral that shows no problems at all.

Any advice would be great.

It sounds to me like it might be doing the typical elegance thing... I had one for a while and once that started, mine was a goner... If it's in high flow I would move it to lower flow. One thing I actually saw on a forum once actually seemed to reverse that effect. Try burying the skeleton about 1/3 to 1/2 into the sand. I hope it makes a turnaround!

stubby tentacles, guts spewing from mouth, separation from skeleton, white stringy stuff on coral tissue? If you see any of this down the line, then sadly it has the elegance coral disease. I've had 4 or 5 and this is the exact reason I don't get them any more.

I really love my elegance coral, the coral has been in my tank for almost 5 months now and it has never had any problems. Ill see how this look tonight and let you guys now.

I did add a Seio 530 wave pump two days ago, could it be the flow?

Balloon up with shortened tentacles is to much light from what I read. Change bulbs recently? Move it higher? Go from cloudy water to Crystal clear?

If not, then a drastic change in flow I guess could upset it. I don't have one but I used to& have done a lot of reading on them. Usually bad things happen early on with them.

My light has not changed at all and its been on the same spot since I got it. I read that a lot of flow will cause it to retract and not balloon up. I have been dosing the same thing since the start and i have not changed anything. I only dose Live Phytoplankton and Seachem Fuel
