Can you pimp out your photographer because those are some beautiful shots. He has taken macro shots to a whole different level.
Hi Elliott,...I just read your thread. So much good information! I have a couple questions for you myself. On your quarantine set up with the submerged trays, you said the over flow goes into the sink drain. What is your water flow through @ hour? are you constantly replenishing the 180 water then?
I like your auto feed also as a lot of other guys have. I don't see how you reload it...dose it come out of the frig? and I assume all the feed pvc's are drilled through(I can't see) so the food will fall into the feed tube? If so, when you fill it dose it not leak where it sit on its base? Has me scratching my head. I can't quite see the hair dryers either, are there two, a big and a small?
Sorry for all the questions, I bet you thought you had answered them all, since no one has asked for any more info in a while,…than I come along. lol Thanks Elliott---Rick
Thanks Elliott,...yes for the most part, on the trays, are you floating them to help with temp.? and how fast are you feeding them? I'm curious how much water your sending to the drain from your DT? Is this just a percentage of your auto water change.Hi Rick,
I'm happy to answer questions, which is the purpose of this thread
So, the submerged trays are fed from the display tank, not the 180 they are sitting in. Water is siphoned from the overflow of the DT and slowly dripped into the trays. The trays then overflow into the sink drain.
The auto feeder is manually loaded. The PVC holders are loaded with frozen food so they don't leak and they are all sitting over exact sized holes so that when they are over the single cutout over the feeding tube their contents free falls into the tube. When a PVC holder rests completely over the feeding tube the hair dryer comes on briefly to ensure the contents are dislodged. There is only one hair dryer.
Make sense?

I understand how your feeder works now. Do you just break pieces off various large frozen foods to fill the pvc's? Is there any type of measurements?
I think I see the hair dryer, its kind of a funny shape. I guess the smaller part is the handle with the cord hanging off it.:crazy1: Got it---Rick
Just watched your video again,... about the sixth time. Love it! Reminds me of a dive off Cozumel. So natural looking, simply beautiful.
I seen your following Andrews thread. I can't wait to see his equipment list lol. Should really be amazing!
Hey Elliott, here is a link to another RC member on his auto feeder for liquids, using air...its pretty simple and you can get little air pumps on ebay that a controller could bring on/off as required. Kind of cool. See what you think---Rick
