elsefailed's 40Br (Picture INTENSE)

tank looks great!really happy to hear you love your mp 10 i will be trying my new one out on my 37 gallon upgrade hopefully this week!-drew

i really like the lighting on the tank, My T5 lights will be here later this week, but i do have a question

you have these as your bulbs
ati blue plus
ati blue special
fiji purple
ati true actinic

I dont know much about t5 lighting yet, but that seems like alot of "blue" in the bulbs
but in the pic here
IMG_0897.jpg

the light looks to be a crisp white color, is the name on the bulb misleading? It would seem from the names of the bulbs that the tank would be alot bluer.

I love the look of your lights and i will probably try to replicate your bulb choice if this is the results of that combo

I love it! You've made excellent use of the space and, as others have already said, your aquascaping is great! Particularly like the arch on the left.

InsaneClownFish - i am using a canon 50d with various lenses, mostly 180 3.5 macro with extensin tubes or 70-200 with extension tubes or 10-22 for FTS

cfarrow2 - thanks a lot! yeah i put a lot of time and effort into my baby! i really want to clean up those wires and maybe ill be close to finished with the setup!

fox2589 - thanks. the mp10 is great, its the only flow in my tank besides my return and a korila nano. i love the random flow its a great investment

Snakebyt - i am very new to t5 as well. i saw a picture of a t5 bulb selection that had the look i wanted so i replicated that. it does seem like its a lot of blue but the tank has a blueish purplish glow. its not overly blue and i might try something else in the future when its time to get new bulbs but for now i am happy. the only thing i can say is maybe its a little more purple in real life, my mac has a color calibrated screen and it looks just like real life there, but on my work pc it looks not as purple. sorry im not more of a help but i think you wont be disappointed in the bulb setup i have its def a good starting place

nitro4kthompson - i appreciate the compliment, my tank would be no where without months of research and help from this and other boards

The Escaped Ape - thanks about the aquascape i am really happy with how it turned out! it was a stroked of luck, but after my first tank crashed i transfered it over to the new tank and as i was setting it up without the water in it it helped me a lot in placement. from then its been minor tweaks to get it just right!

Wonderful pics, I really like that branchie (sp?) rock with all the zoo's. I'm trying to decide on either an mp10 or 20, I have lps and a few sps frags. Just a question, do you think that the 10 has the ability to whip your lps around on a higher setting?

upster - the mp10 is def very powerful when i turn it up to full blast it blasts everything, but then again i have a very open aquascape
ive heard other 40breeders using a mp20 with sps and wanting more so im not sure
all i know is that im really happy with my mp10 its perfect for lps and i feel its def. would be ok as my only pump besides the returns

Very nice tank! Very colorful!

I have to get a macro lense for my 50D. I'm stuck with the stock lense (28-135mm) for now with rings. I also have a 50mm, but it's more for portrait and landscapes.

Simply outstanding!! I can't believe this is only a 40 breeder

Incredable photography work!!

Keep up the great work.
