Hi, I am having this fish for almost a year in a 200 gallons (7 feet)FOWLR. For past 2 days the fish has been covered with these white spots which doesnt seem to be ich. Fish is behaving/ eating normal and no scratching. All other fishes showing no sign of any disease, which include powder brown, vlamingii, bicolor angel, foxface and an ocellaris clown.

Only change from past is the addition of a very mellow 10" vlamingii tang (temporary) a week ago.
Any idea what it could be?

If all your water parameters are ok....... I'd put money that this is a stressed induced condition. Check water parameters, check for stray voltage in water, and if he was ok prior to the 10" tang......... I'd keep a real close eye on interactions between your Emperor and the tang. Perhaps pull him out into quarantine and give him a prophylactic treatment, or better yet pull the Tang out. Good Luck.

Water parameters are fine. I have seen symptoms of internal parasites today as some fish are having a bit of stringy poop. Will get prazipro today and yes i agree with u, i need to get vlamingii out.

Have you added anything new to the tank recently?

Yess, a vlamingii tang was added a week ago. Today, although emperor is eating fine but seems to be breathing a bit heavily and twitching its head a couple of times. Coloration of Bicolor has also started to fade a little. Still i dont see any signs of ich. Could it be due to internal parasites? If yes, how deadly could it be?

I would think its stressed induced also sometimes my emperor and the tangs get into it and the emperors skin will get blotches for a bit then go away.

Hopefully it is just stress. Although the new addition (Vlamingii) doesn't seem to bother any fish but its large size may be enough to stress some fish. Tonite I'll try to move vlamingii to the sump to see if it makes any difference.

Jst to update....Emperor is looking fine now. I dosed my tank with prazi pro and removed the new addition (large vlamingii tang).

That's good that it appeared to go away with PP, I was going to guess Velvet, but I've never seen what velvet looks like in real life though.

I have seen that sort of faded coloration on a few fish before. I do feel it is stress induced, however what caused the stress is the issue. Based on the twitching, I think there is a good possibility flukes were stressing the emperor out and the prazi relieved him, causing stress marks to get better.
