Encrusting Monti - troubles

I traded a guy a grogonian fan for a couple of pieces of coral. I am new to SPS, but have had good results on LPS and softies. Can anyone offer some tips as to why this encrusting monti isn't doing well? The other SPS he gave me looks good, along with the remaining items from the trade. Thank you for the help!

Please post a better pic of the coral you are referring to... Can't pinpoint anything from that.

please post your water parameters. they will help us understand your water quality to grow SPS. encrusting montis are usually pretty hardy IME.

Yeah you can't really see what's going on there, but I do see a hydnophora which are extremely aggressive causeing the problem
