Most of you know Energy's large 1700 gallon reef tank from the tank of the month thread. what was not show in the pictures is his collection of rare and exotic species of fish that he has been collecting latley. some of these fish are new additions to his tank since the tank of the month thread.

i was over to visit Energy this weekend and took some pictures of his amazing collection of fish. i have never seen so man exotic species of fish in one tank. i do not know the names of these fish but energy might chime in here and make note of there species. some of these are just rare becasue of there markings or colors.

you can see the gem tang in the background. energy has grown that fish from a baby the size of a silver dollar to what it is today. its a fat healthy fish that is almost the size of my hand. and on the other side of him is one of energys hybreed tangs.

That large black tang with the orange on it's tail looks amazing. Is that a hybrid?
yes but i cant remmember what species energy said it was.
what i love about that ffish is the face is very different. the white lips and the shading around the sholders. also the orange and blue are so vibrant against the black body.

these are just a hand full of fish that i could catch with the camera. there is alot more that were hiding in the rocks that were not in the mood to have there pictures taken. his wrasse collection is the biggest i have ever seen anywhere. unfortunatlly all the wrasse pictures turned out bad and were not worth posting.

luv the clown!
gem tang=not worth the price
the rest pretty cool
yes i understand your point but energy has had that fish for years. they were not as expensive when he got that fish. but now that fish is worth alot more than a wild cought fish becasue it has been tank raised since it was a little baby.

How is the orange spotted filefish doing? Do you know how long energy has had it and has he been able to get it to eat any kind of prepared food?

Thanks---------

that i do not know. i didnt see it in the tank the last time i was there. there is just too many fish in that tank to remember them all. the only ones that you really remember is the really big ones.
there is so many wrasses in that tank that it seams like every time i go there i see a new one and it has been in there for months or years.

Thanks---------

Spazz - r those bullet holes in those clown pics?

yes they are in acclimation boxes so they dont fight with the other clowns in the tank. those are in his refugium so they can be target feed and wont have to fight with other fish for food. im sure energy will have them in the fuge for about a year to get them alot bigger before there put in the main tank. energy has alot of patients when it comes to fish. his gem tang lived in his fuge for almost a year before it was released into the big tank.
