Enough Flow?

I need to add some more flow to my new 150g. My return provides about 1000gph. Do you think that adding two Tunze 6060's will be enough? They are rated at 1600gph, is that real?
This means I'd have about 4200gph total or 28x my water volume. It sounds sufficient to me, just want to make sure the Tunze actaully provides enough real flow.

hehe, they do and more. I'd recommend getting the 6000 with the multicontroller though. Oh, and its not so much as turnover but rather if all your corals get flow and no dead spots. I just put in the wavebox and I'm getting flow everywhere now even the deadspots I had with the 6000s

What kind of return pump are you using??
Pan World maybe??
Single 1" return into a duel setup??

haha sounds like you know my setup?
Really I dont want to spend the $$ on the 6000w/controller. There is a pretty big price difference.

Oh yeah and after getting a Rio 2500 with my EV-120, I will never again own anything made by that company. What a worthless pump. I know seios are supposed to be better, but I boycotted them too anyway.

hey cooltank, if you put a 1260 on that ev it'll work awesome. i have a 1262 on my 180 and i have to clean my collection cup every couple days. If you can, honestly get the controllable tunzes, if that's not an option, the 6080 will work. Are you looking to keep sps mainly?

I do.
Maybe a couple of MJ400 mods??? On a Red Sea wave maker??
It's a nice tank, the stand and canopy wasn't going to work for me.
But I like the tank.

Ocean Runner 3500 or Mag 5 on the EV-120 maybe ??
The NEW Rio "Plus" are good pumps.

the mag is the minimum pump you want to put on there. If you want really good skimmate and take advantage of the full potential of the EV, go with the 1260.

ive runa few seios in my tank over the last year + no probs at all to speak of and for the money they do an awesome job

Not looking for a pump for my EV120...I put a mag7 on it and I get a cup daily, plus overflow. I'll see if it can keep up with the 150g as I begin to buy more livestock.

Seios are 7"x3.5"...kinda bulky next to a 4" square. But looks like they are about half the price.
