hey guys, i got a blue crocea about 2 weeks ago. i have a 29g, with 175w mh, and 2 30w blue actinic compacts. i currently have him on the sand and was wondering if this is enough light for him? he is expanding fine everyday, and i am feeding him dt's every 3-4 days. thanks austin

The lights fine, but he really should be on some rock. They etch their way into it. If you move him don't tear the threads if he's hooked himself to the glass., cut with razor.

I do not think that lighting ifs fine for a crocea on the sandbed. Put it as high up as possible on a rock. Even then I would say its a bit on the dimmer side of its tolerable range.

18inches, and its got a 3inch sand bed. also, he is on an empty clam shell, so he isnt just on the sand.

I still vote to move himonto the rock work, because he will etch his way through that clam shell with time. Plus it is cool when ten years from now to have a clam completely buried into the rock

You lighting is sufficient for the clam to be anywhere in a standard 29 gallon tank. As Jim mentioned, crocea are normally found on rock and should be placed somewhere on your live rock.
