Well I've been holding off starting this thread untill I started getting things together for it. I would like to start off thanking Pedro for ugrading and handing the 90 over. This build has been a slow one. I already have a tank that is thriving but I have also ran out of room. So now its time to up grade.

Here are some pics of the tank being cleaned after a long vinegar bath.

After cleaning and touching up the paint both on the stand and the back of the tank, it was time to send the tank to the drill master.

I have been reading Jays build thread inside and out and I want to make mine as clean as possible. This is my attempt to build some thing as clean looking as Jay's.

this is my return plumbing. It will be run by either a rio hyperflow 26 (1500gh) or a rio hyperflow 17 (1000gph). the return pump will run 2-3 reactors in addition to doing its return function. Here is the mock return plumbing set up

This brings us all the way from March 27th when I got the tank to now.

Today I decided to do a mock up of the tank plumbing to see if what I had envisioned would work. And It looks like its gonna work. Today I also bought a 40gal sump from Ben which I will be picking up tommorrow.

Today during my school lunch brake I went to lowes and did what this thread told me to do. LOL!

I brought them home and after the mock up, I sized them ut and cuth them so they could be the depth of the tank and 15 inches above the tank.

And this bring us up to date. I will update as soon as I do more to the tank.
This build will have plenty of pics to go with it.

Thanks

Erik

One more addition, after some advice from the build thread master Jay, I ordered some nylon threaded rod and went to lowes and bought some nylon nuts and washers. I will be ordering some epoxy putty and a 5/16 drill bit in the near future as I will also buy some dry rock. I have not decided wether to bur marco rock or reef rocks. Please give your info.

Great start Erik!!! Now take your time along with a bunch of pics as this is the best part!!! ;) Did you figure out the hangers for the plumbing? If you need me to make some of the hangers I made just let me know. I have all of the supplies and can be made to size.

Jay

Jay, i went to lowes and home depot today and I didnt like what they had. I am in no hurry so I would love it if you could come and give me some advice on how to make it better. I would love some of your custom hangers. when ever you get a chance to come to ep and take some pics of my current tand, maybe you can take a look at what I have so far for the 90. I already have my tank up and running so I want to make shure the 90 is up to par with the best of them.

Im gonna put it in the same spot the 56 is right now at the same angle. I am still working on the stand, I might order some marco rocks or reef rocks (it looks like they get their rock from the same mining reserve)this coming week. So i can start cleaning and cycling the rock. wont do the plumbing Water test for a while. I still need to figure out how everything is gonna be braced to the stand.

The only updates I have done up to date were, drilling holes for on the hanging trees for the hooks to go into and then painted them black.
