ESV BIONIC seawater system salt

Same feedback I am getting from others on this salt mix. It's consistent, period. The nature of the mix ensures that you're going to get the same cal/alk/mg levels on every mix.

never mind i'm retarded...Great stuff...couldn't find it on the site to reorder...found it :)

Any updates on this salt? I just ordered a 200gal box from Premium. Hope the reviews are still positive.

I got some of this salt a few months back and I love it way better than IO IMO mixes fast and clear. FYI to get the proper readings every time you need to do it by weight with a good scale. The first WC i did 2 5gal buckets readings were a little off from one another. The second WC i did 2 5gal buckets by weight and they were both the same.

That's good to hear.

Thanks,

I know this is a little old, not any updates, but I was wondering like rkaires was. What kind of scale is being used? For 5gallon, 10 gallon, 15 gallon mixes at a time? I have a RCBS Rangemaster scale for reloading, it measures grains and grams, I believe it can goto 100 grams, accurate to .01, but I have no idea the weights you all are talking, 100 grams is .22lbs so maybe 1/4 pound is more than enough, anyone care to elaborate on the scales being used?

I guess I will go look for online instructions, just was curious, seen the question asked, and no answer so..

Thanks

Quick question.

Included sheet gives directions for mixing at 34ppt, and then says reduce water by 8% to get a 37ppt salinity. Has anyone come up with a 35ppt calculation? I suppose I could just mix it to 37ppt and add ro/di to 35ppt. Just thought maybe someone had a number, like 6% less water, or whatever, maybe I just try mixing one gal at a time to come up with that percentage.

Thanks in advance.

Answered myself, you'll want a kitchen food scale, 6 lbs version will do grams to 1 which is close enough. You wont be able to weigh your water, but you can use a bathroom scale for that if you have too, or just volume measure for water.

My routine for mixing the salt is pretty simple and very reliable. I typically make 15 gallon batches. I put about 13-14 gallons of RO/DI water (the exact amount is not important as long as it is less than 14 gals) in a bucket with a string powerhead, add the indicated amount of each component in order using the included measuring cups, allowing the salt to dissolve before adding the magnesium and the magnesium to dissolve before adding the liquid components. I then test for salinity - its usually 37-39ppt -- and add water until I get it exactly where I want it. Done.

Best salt I have ever used.

Ok I am in. I will be going to premium in the morning to get some. I was just there but I forgot to pick it up.

I have been using this salt for about six months now, and am very happy with it. One question from the other users: since I do run Zeovit, and would like to have the ALK of the freshly mixed water a little lower, can this be done by adding less of one of the components? I am assuming that the liquid Component "A" is the Alk?

Here, I found this on another forum using google. It was the 3rd link down.
