Alright, my Eheim pump came today.

This thing is sweet. Here's some pics

BTW, this thread is about the pumps that ER is currently releasing. Let's keep this one friendly ;)

This thing is SILENT!!!!

Very impressed.

It draws a little less air than the SP4, but not much at all. I'll get some pics with an airmeter up tonight or tomorow.

Oh BTW, the impeller is also one of the newer models. I'll take some pics of the sp4 impeller and post them as well.

And it pulls less air than an SP4?

Yes it pulls in a little less. I think right around 900lph

I'll get some pics up later. Its pretty close though.

Jim

I'm not sure how ER is selling them. I know they will be offerd on the RC models, but I haven't heard anything about the internal models yet. I don't see why they wouldn't, but I just haven't heard.

Jim

My question is this, what makes the ER tech so poor that it takes a 1262 to draw LESS air than a Deltec or H&S 1260?

I thought it was a pretty friendly question. After all, once we identify what is being done wrong perhaps ER can correct it and make a better pump.

Was the pump modified by ER or did it appear stock?

But to answer the question "why it pulls less air?"

I think the 1260 and 1262 are pretty much the same pumps from what I've heard as far as performance. But this is my first eheim, so I don't know much about the pumps.

The pump pulls in 900lph of air, which is slighlty less than the sp4. IMO, it works great. I could not be more happier with the performance as well as the silence.

The new style impeller seems to make much smaller bubbles than the older impeller on my sp4.

And lets keep this one friendly (like I said in my first post).

Jim

Well said and thank you for the response.

There is actually a pretty large difference in performance between the 1260 and the 1262, the numbers on these pumps are decieving. If you look at the flow rate alone there is about a 40% difference.

Finally, more power to ER. Could you post some performance photos after a few days for an update? This is really a breakthrough for ER.

Yes, I sure will.

I also would like others to post there experiences with these pumps here as more and more begin to circulate.

Jim

Are these pumps/new skimmers out there? I have been unable to find info on them via ER website (am I just a moron?) What models have new eheims?
