Gate valve mod

Gate valve mod

I have a 12-2....Does anybody know which size gate valve mod I need. 1 1/4 or 1 1/2?

Thanks

I know the 5" skimmers need 1 1/4, so at least 1 1/2. The h20tropicals site will have the answer for sure, or wait for Lunch to school you.

tridacnagiagas - well check out www.euro-reef.com for more info. the names changed from 8-4 to gallon sizes now. ER can give you the exact name and number now so you can look it up

12-2...i'm betting it is 1.5" pvc for the mod...but just take your riser out and measure the inside of the FITTING (90 degree) out of the skimmer...that will be the size you want. i'm betting 1.5" pvc though

nebraskareef - i'm just here to help..no school in session

I have a question. Does pump when connected to the pipe of the skimmer fit loosely or it suppose to fit tightly. Mine fits kind of loose and I was just wondering.

What pump would be recommended for the RC250 ? Submersible and External? What is everyone using to feed the skimmer ?

does anyone have a picture of the RC180? I need to see what the bottom looks like, I need to make sure the sump I'm constructing will hold it.

is the base 9" or is it wider...

I know the dealers quote it as 9 by 20...

what area would you recommend for in sump installation including a feed pump

Sorry Another question.....

I'm like a week or two out from buying a RC180. So prior to getting it i'm getting the plumbing and sump ready. If I decide to go external with this how large a problem or chance better yet is there of an overflow. That is why I went with in sump with my last skimmer (aquaC). I really don't want to drain my tank to the floor again.

Also, what is the clearence for cup removal? Is there a way to mod the cup for a waste collector prior to it shipping?

I'm planning a sump with about 24" x 12" worth of skimmer room should that be enough for both the skimmer and feed pump? That is if the chance of overflow is too great.

I really couldn't find any compliants on two different boards about this skimmer, does anyone have any experience with this skimmer?

Hello Everyone Just want yor input. A
friend of mine is seeling his Euro-Reef CS-8-2 Protein Skimmer with a Sedra 5000 pump. Its about 1 1/2 years old. He wants 270.00 for it. Do you think its a good price? I have a 120 gallon tank with a 30 gallon sump, it will fit. Any feed back would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks,
Eric

Hey ER,

You say there's some new things comming out. Im in the market for a kalk and co2 reactors you guys heading down that road??

That exit is still a few miles down the road. We would likw to bring something new to those applications rather than "join the club". I can tell you that the new impellers should be coming off the press in the next few weeks and the HOB is going to proto-typing as I write.

Also, BIG changes for the RS Series will be announced next week....

I purchased 2 of my skimmers on EBAY direct from Euroreef. The handle at that time was The Skimmerman. I spoke to him on the phone as well. He essentially sells a skimmer that was not perfectly made for a deep discount. I don't know if anyone else has done this but it is a great way to own a one of the best skimmers on the market for a great price.

ER - man i can't wait to see waht you guys are bringing out!!

A96hondaaccord - i think ES is economy series...or something like that. it was before the RS series

I am thinking about buying a CS-100. How does it perform and do you recomend it? It will be going on a lightly stocked 55g with a 15g sump/fuge

You could always go with a CS80 as well for that size tank.

I have two ER units, one that is comparable to the the CS100 on a heavily stocked 58g with a twenty gallon sump. The other ER comparable to a CS 135 unit will be setup on a 120g with 50g sump

The CS-100 fits better in my sump and is rated for a bigger tank. I will be getting the blem version from h20 tropicals so the price doesn't matter. How much skimmate does your ER pull out in a day?
