Euroreef CS6-2 or AquaC-180?

shibumi,
Can't go wrong with the Euro-Reef skimmers. They just flat out work. I just got rid of my PM Bullet 1, and replaced with the CS6-3 recirculating skimmer by Euro-Reef. I use to skim my 75. This skimmer is a beast.... Good luck....

Shibumi, I dont know if you mind, but with the electricity your going to be using pushing the AquaC your better off going with the EuroReef. JMO

I've had both, and I found them both to be good skimmers.. As far as power consumption, the AquaC uses a MAG7, so it's not all that bad..

I was getting about 3/4 of a GALLON of skimmate out of te AquaC per month and about a cup every 5 days or so out of the euroreef.. So I really count them about equal.. I'm using an ASM G4+ now, simply because I got a great deal on it..

I was trying to get prices and somebody at the store says that that model is not available anymore, that the new model is the RS135.

Can anybody help me?

I have a 95g with softies and I like to feed my fish good. What model should I get? I am looking for something no soo pricey but reliable.

For my dollar, I would get an AquaC EV120 and pump.. you can find them used all the time and I would stand up an AquaC next to a Euro-Reef skimmate wise any day of the week.. And for that matter, why rule out an ASM? They're a perfecly acceptable skimmer as well, and cheaper than a comparable Euro-Reef..

If you get down to brass tacks, there's always someone out there whos got a better product.. Deltec, H&S, etc.. No one has a perfect answer for your specific system..

shibumi,

I had the Aqua C EV180. I had it in the sump / out of the sump / replaced spray injectors / changed pumps from a mag 7 to a mag 9 with ball valve / consulted with jason @ Aqua C (very nice person) but I could never to get that skimmer to pull more then a 1/8 cup of skimmate a week. I changed to EuroReef RS135 and all I can say is that it ROCKS. I pull a full cup of skimmate out in 5-6 days skimming dry.

nope, for the price these things cost there should not have to be any modifications. My RS135 is working like a champ right out of the box

Euro Reef works, no tweeking, dialing in, headaches, mistakes, or anything of the like. With the gate valve, it allows you to adjust the skimming from wet to dry and everything in between, with simplicity. There may be some mods that can make them even more efficient than factory, but still out perform most, IMO..... I consider my cs6-3 rc, a return on investment. I got mine for 275.00 on this forum, less than a month ago. So, not too bad for a skimmer that I can certainly make 1-2 upgrades with, and not have to re-invest. If you want a skimmer that will skim, IME, I say gooooooooo Euro-Reef.....................

I couldnt wait any longer and I bought it. :D
Thanks John nobody can beat that price.
I just put it together and I cant wait to see how it works.

Thanks for the help. :)
