Evans anthias

Added some Evans anthias to my tank recently and they are just too beautiful to not share on RC. I actually added 5, but 1 went awol right a way. They seem to always swim like this at all times. Not mixing with my 3 lyretails. I only feed frozen foods in my tank. So far they don't eat mysis, or LRS, but seem to like canalus.

Suta, they are about 3 inches long. I have heard that most Anthias have short life spans, so I'm hoping they aren't already halfway through their lifespan. These fish are very shy, nothing like my Lyretails. I hope I can keep them alive as I have only had them three days.

Nice ones!
I had those on my list as well but took the ventralis since they were as the smallest species on the top of my list and just available.

As for how old Anthias get - I started a thread for people to share their experiences, but nobody responded.

Yes, ThRoewer I saw that post but I couldn't add any experience to the post as I have just started keeping Anthias. I can say that when my Lyretail turned male, it spent all its energy constantly chasing the 4 females, and posturing. So much so that it stopped eating and died. Then the next female became male, and she is much more laid back. My wife says she learned how not to be when she became male!

Pictures don't do these guys justice. I saw one at an lfs and now they are a must have if i ever get a bigger tank
