I recently bought a Copper Banded Butterfly and it was not acclimating very well. It seemed to be trying to fight off a skin parasite and had gone on a hunger strike. The night that I decided to remove it from my display tank to my sick tank and treat it I could not find it. It had been hiding a lot and was not always easy to find, but there are only so many hiding places in a 125 gallon tank. While looking in the normal hiding spots in my live rock I noticed that my LTA look a little odd. I wondered what could be wrong with him. Upon further inspection, I fund the answer to both my questions. He proceeded to expel my Copper Banded Butterfly fish. He must have decided that it was too big for him. He also expelled my emerald crab that he must have eaten the night before. I was so shocked that I didn’t get a picture of him expelling the crab. That was one expensive dinner. All I can say is that I have been married 12 years and have not bought my wife an $85 piece of fish for dinner nor do I think I ever will.
