Just wondered what the experience has been with young fish of this variety as far as aggression and picking on LPS and SPS coral. Also interested in what happens as they mature.
Very hardy, can be very shy when people are around, just comming out when fed. IME they leave SPS, softies and clams alone, but love LPS. I don't keep LPS, but I gave one Mac. to my sister and it went to town on all her LPS. I had to take him back. They can also be aggressive towards other fish.
They also grow to be one of the largest angelfish.
LargeAngels, Hoped you would chime in on this. Really appreciate your input. I have the opportunity to get some TR juvi's. Would you do more than one or try two hoping for an eventual pair. They will be going in a 180 with primarily SPS. However there are a few lps and zoo's. Based on the fact that they are tank raised do I stand a better chance of them not picking? Thanks!
I've never had a problem with mac's picking on SPS. Juvi's or adults. I't won't hurt to try two juvi's and see how they act, as long as you have a backup plan to get one out. the 180 will still be too small when they do reach adulthood, as full size is 0.5 meters (19.7 inches.)
