external continous overflow + wavebox

I'm having a custom 8' tank built and will incorporate a wavebox. Originally I had planned for internal overflows but noticed the trend towards externals. My thought was an external that would stretch the length (8') and wondered if this would have any bearing on the use of the wavebox. Either way I am planning on having two inch teeth in the overflow.

P.S. The wavebox would be mounted on one end of the tank.
