F/S ASM G2, also a ? about G3

I just upgrated my skimmer to a G3 and I have a G2 for sale. I bought the G2 body used so Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m not sure how old it is but its in good working condition. I already cleaned it out and everything. The sedra 3500 is about a year old and its in perfect condition. $150 pickup in Santa Ana 92704.

And my question is how long does it take for a new G3 to break in? Iââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢m running it in a 55gal container with old tank water since I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t want my tank to go a few days without a skimmer, when should it be ready?

Kevin, I just wash out a new skimmer with vinegar to remove any manufacturing residue and run in on the main tank. A true breakin happens when you get the slim coating on the inside of the skimmer, but it should start producing long before that.

Im using my G2 for the little 25g prop, Im going with MR3. You should go Big too. You will not see the diffence btw G2 & G3. Im running G2 body with G3 pump here.

I'm already running a g3 that I got from a friend and its a good diff. The g2 works great for me but the g3 was a steal so I couldnââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t pass it up. Besides I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t want to overskim the tank. I have a G4x that I was using and notice color loose on my sps within a few weeks. When I took it out the sps colored up again so I donââ"šÂ¬Ã¢"žÂ¢t want to do that again. Remember that I only have a 90gal tank with more rocks then water
