Fairy Wrasses ok with cleaner shrimp?

I have a Velvet fairy wrasse and a Servensi, the Servensi I can hear him snap his jaw with alot of power when swimming in the tank.

I wanted to add 2 cleaner shrimp, will these kill and eat the shrimp?

put them in 1 at a time, see what happens lol worst case, u'll lose 1.

i think fish know not to eat cleaner shrimp (instinctive) because in wild they clean their mouths and such... BUT i could be wrong.

Hmmmm, maybe my three wrasses are not shrimp predators, but doesn't mean yours won't be. Beautiful fish, but definitely sounds and looks like it might prey on shrimp. Best to check it out more closely.

Nice looking wrasse, is that a Digital Wrasse (Pseudojujoides Severnsi)?

Where did you pick that one up at? I'm in the market for a new wrasse ever since my Christmas Wrasse whom I've had for almost 2 years jumped. I saw a picture of one at reefhotspot.com and it's one type of wrasse I'm considering? I can't find much info on them though, are they reef safe? Is he a mean little guy or just minds his own business? Thing I liked about my Christmas wrasse was he would just cruise the rocks all day long, not bothering anybody except of course when I tried putting in another wrasse.

Yup Digital Wrasse Pseudojujoides Severnsi..I was doubting myself....Yea I cant seem to google it either.

He is Reef Safe. I currently have him with a RBTA, some sps, zoos, ricordeas,shrooms,gsp...

His tank mates are;
2 clwns
1 yellow tang
1 baby blue tang
1 six line wrasse
1 purple velvet wrasse
1 mandarin goby
1 flame angel

He is chill, he hangs out with my yellow tang 24/7

The scientific name is correct on the pencil and is also commonly called the black hat pencil wrasse. I have always had mine with shrimps and he leaves them alone as do my fairy wrasses. However none of these fish will use the shrimp as a cleaner. In my experience they only allow cleaner wrasses to clean them.

fairy wrasses will devour peppermint shrimp...it is well known..

Sorry Sam, didnt see this post...its a severnsi and not much info on it on google, check out the fairy wrasse thread, the original one, the guys talk about him there... I got mine (sam's) at Vivid Aquariums... so ask them. They are supposedly hard to keep and will just die out of nowhere but sam will agree, this guy is healthy as hell and eats like a pig...just make sure he doesnt jump sam.

Do you mean $75 for the pencil wrasse? I picked mine up for $20. I don't think I have ever seen them for sale for over $30.

Haha really? Pet Supreme had one for 70.00 but was on hold for a buyer....Hahaha sweet.
