Fan fell in my tank- Help please

So I came home from work a few days ago and my clip on fan had come loose and fallen in my tank including the motor housing. My fish and LPS are fine but SPS look awful, colors look washed out, polyp extension not good. I imediatly did a water change of about 30%. Its been 3 days now and corals still look bad, I have not lost any yet but they are not improving, they do not look any worse but not any better. My normal parameters are all good so not sure if it was the metal or electricity in the water that caused it. My red planet went from dark crimson red to light pink and my green slimer looks like crap and it was the brightest sps in my tank. Do I need to do a massive water change, add carbon? Any thoughts or ideas would be appreciated. This is a mature 5 year old tank that went from looking amazing to horrible overnight.
Thanks Mike

Don't worry, I had a led moonlight fall in my tank. Same thing happened but worse, all corals bleached out except a few. Took a few months for color to come back. Do a lot of water changes and regular maintenance.

Hi,

Sorry about the mishap.
IMHO do 20% water change daily for a week (why a week bcoz there are SPS)
Make sure the salinity and temp of the mixed water is same as the DT.
Use premixed water which is well circulated.
Run Seachem Purigen (preferrably in a reactor), good quality
GAC and also Poly filter.
Avoid adding any additives.
Moniter Alk and pH cautiously.

The above chores seem hectic...it's mainly coz you have SPS and need to act fast.
Hope it helps :)

Had the same thing happen to me last year. Keep up with the water changes (I'd say 20-25% weekly) definitely add a poly filter or two and be patient. Colors will return but it will take a couple of months. First you'll notice the return of PE, then colors. Keep all parameters in order. A swing in any of them can spell disaster.

Good luck and keep your head up!

whenever my corals get stressed or challenged by me lol I give them some amino's every little bit helps usually helps stressed corals at least mine...good luck should perk back up
