Faulty Ozmilator & bubbles from Tunze Compact 16 sump?

Hi

I have just fitted the Tunze compact 16 complete sump system. It's a great bit of kit but I have had the following problems:

1 - the Ozmilator sensor that turns on the pump to fill the sump, to replace water lost through evaporation seems to be faulty. It will turn the pump on when it reaches the low point, but as soon as it goes passed the sensor it doesn't turn off? I have tried various settings. But it still keeps filling until the cut out flood sensor kicks in much later.

2 - I am getting a lot of fine bubbles in the Aquarium tank. Is there a way in which I can reduce these or will this settle with use?

3 - The Skimmer (DOC9010) isn't skimming yet. Plenty of bubbles but not reaching anywhere near the top of the cup. In fact as soon as the cup is placed on the skimmer, you can't see any bubbles at all and you have to look down the funnel to see them. Any ideas? Or, is this like my old Deltec MCE 600, which needed a few days to actually settle and produce skim?

Any help appreciated.

Thanks

Stu

1) A new osmolator can act quirky. The reason is that all new plastic, being based on oil, repels water. This means it favors air bubbles and just like a new skimmer, the plastic has to be broken in. Either wait a few days or rinse the sensor in vinegar or hot soapy water.

2) This will settle in time but I would consider raising the sensor of the osmolator slightly and changing the direction of the pump intake. You should have recieved a T and a strainer and moving this away from the wall where the water enters will help prevent it from picking up bubbles as water spills over from the skimmer/filter area where the drain hose is.

3) Give it time- 2-3 days is really the minimum. It generally reaches it's optimum in 2 weeks.
