Found these 2 at the Miami Seaquarium, LOL!

Thank you! It does! I actually grew that small colony from just a couple of polyps. I posted it here shortly after I first got it, good luck finding the post though heheh :lol2:

Well, I'm back in the Favid game! My first hard coral in the new Reef is a nice green and blue Goniastrea. I had to have it, the moment I saw it.
Oh, yeah, I'll try to do that thing I *Really* suck at, because you will all be asking for those certain things here! LOL

Here is my only favia. It is nothing crazy like the beautiful ones that i have seen on this thread but It is all I have. I basically paid 29 bucks delivered, seems like a good deal.

Here's one I rescued at a swap about 8 weeks ago. The first pic shows it in the back right hand corner, behind the bonsai. The other were taken a few nights ago.

Wait, I thought I was the first to admit that!

But if you look to the right there's a little patch of yellow encusting sponge, that too looks greenish. Blue+yellow=
It's due to the new superactinics Im running, virtually impossible to take pics with my camera when there brand new..

No worries, give me about another 9 months, and my shots wont look so "actinic-y"

Whats the most commmon color for favias?

Green, with lighter toned centers. Green seems to be much to their liking. Most of the more flourescent ones are also green.
I'd say red is the next most common color on these corals, though I gues I could be wrong.
BTW, that last one pictured? I think its a Goniastrea, or a Favites. Still. its a very nice coral. They all are IMHO..

What do I think? I think it has lots of potential! Maybe not very bright now, but like I've said, most of my Favia that I owned in the past changed colors on me.
In time, this might become a mint-green and blue one. (guessing here, but that is what I see).

I dont see any mint green in there, looks more blue and purple with a lime green rim(new growth edge) to me. I understand color morphology but from appearances it looks like it's been growing for some time so the color changes if any would probably just be coloring up what is already there. Like the shifts and variances of different bulbs, or replacing exhausted ones.

But if that is a new addition to the tank, who knows! The coloration could shift to something different entirely. Nice colony hadarush
