Seeing usernames of people I just hung out with over the weekend is way cool. Greg and Jose, thanks again for showing me your tanks.

I saw some nice favids at MAX, not to mention stores like Tongs.

Marc, it was a pleasure meeting you and spending the day with you showing you many SoCal tanks. Looking forward to seeing you again in October.

Livestock-wise? The only coral I wanted was sold unfortunately. I've been posting my experiences in my 280g thread and the SoCal forum each day. Bottom line - it was great. If you like shows like MACNA, this was a great one to attend at a very cheap price - but you don't get the speakers like MACNA does. It was about hardware and high end corals at a price tag. Some stuff was cheaper, but it wasn't the place to be shopping for a bargain when you so many people walking around with wallets full of money completing for the same piece. :uzi:

I really don't like getting corals when traveling because of the flight restrictions we have now, so I'm there to learn about the products, discuss what I think might be flaws (as I see it) or even talk about rumors about the products, that way when the topic comes up again and again I can hopefully chime in on a few facts to stop the misinformation.

Tons of gorgeous acans - tons. Then again, Jose has most of them anyway. I read that Zoanuts dropped their prices on Sunday so I should have just bought the contents of his overflowing tank, right? Oops. :o

spsboy: That is the best Platygyra I have ever seen. & the only red one too. :smokin:
BillyBigGoats: Love the blue Favias. Tha is the coolest color for an LPS coral:smokin:

Sincerely
Matthew
Still trying to get a decent shot of MINE..

Ditto! It was great meeting individuals that I have drooled over their coral photo's posted and even got to see a few of their tanks! Hopefully I can continue the tour in October and catch the tanks I missed due to having to leave for set-up at the show! I'm hoping I can get some frags some day from Richard and Greg as I saw many corals in their tanks that I can't stop thinking about!

Thanks again for allowing me and my friends to join the tour!

Hey Sara! You never told me how you liked the conference. The tours are awesome when you are on the hunt for some new favias, right? LOL

(staying on topic)

You looked pretty busy at the show, so we never caught up there! I did enjoy the show, but I'm pretty tired out! It was great meeting you and I'll see you at MACNA next!

Yes, the favia hunt was fun! I got a nice one from Zoanuts as well as some other LPS goodies on Sunday. Hopefully I'll get a few more from the tour viewings! ;)

sara b and Melev, thanks for comming to so cali and for taking the time to drop by and look at the tanks. it was truly a pleasure.
mark if i had more time i would a have asked you hours of questions on tank designs and changes but i honestly did not want to bug you. now that i am back i can put that package together for you.
there were a few nice favias for the taking, even in the hobbiest section
and on a sad note.
frank burr was selling prism favias as dragon souls LE's buyers beware his prism favias do not have the lienage to the original colony just another prism. stuff like that really ticks me off. because the buyer always finds out in the long run

Aw man, that's bad to hear. We had a guy in our area that was selling stuff stating it came from specific sources, and a couple of guys did some dective work and totally busted him. When he was being interrogated, he finally admitted that 'everyone lies about this stuff' as if that made it okay. It got him banned from several sites.

How hard is it to say I have "a pretty green acro/acan/mushroom" instead of a Tyree LE? Seriously, if you have a nice coral and want a little more money for it, if the buyer feels it is worth it, so be it. If it doesn't sell, you have it to enjoy until someone demands it one day.

It was great to meet you, see your set up, and I loved lil' Sharkbait. :inlove: I only have one picture of him, and it was from above. Had my camera worked, I would have gotten a better picture but I wasn't about to try with that pocket Sony gizmo. ;) If you want to talk more, we can do it over the phone or Skype. I'm happy to answer your questions if our schedules align.

So back to this topic, here's my same purple favia that I bought two weeks ago on the substrate. The 400w Radium was on, the 320w of VHO actinics were on, and this is with my Fuji s5100 back up camera. Feel the purple, see the green.

wow thats beaufitul.. my favorite color combo. green and shades of purple. imo the aussie ones this color blow away the avg rainbow acan. i am looking foward to seeing how the colors change on that one. very nice. drool!
an update on the LE thing. a couple of emails sent back and forth between Frank and I. Frank will be calling his the "dragon scales" and Le of his tropical reeef oaisis aks the dragon scales of TCOLE.
jesh i would have been eaiser to me if this was done in the first place, but had to clearify.
