I've been feeling a little left out, so today I went up to my LFS camera in hand to see if I could find a few corals to photograph for this thread. (Yes, I apparently have no life. )

Is that a Baby'sbreath? If not, its remarkably similar.

PS.
Justin,
Where are those Goniastrea pics?

I promise to take a pic tomorow and post. I was experimenting a lil with the placement in terms of lighting. The frag itself isnt worth a drum roll, but man when that thing sizes up, watch out

Kev, Congratulations on starting something sweet we can all appreciate! Glad I could join in the fun :)

I'll be looking forward to that, Justin.
I really want to see some & how they relate to Favia & PLatygyra.

Matthew

Hey, you must keep those in reserve anytime things get a bit dull here.
Really, really, very nice specimens. I just never find any that nice. Darn!
Do they keep their color in your tank?

Matthew

well ****e Sheol! Left my camera usb chord at the office:mad2:

Did some digging though, heres the gorgeous colony my lil frag came from in all it's glory :)

That is sure a pretty piece there, Justin. Did your frag hold its color. I'm asking because no Favid I introduce into my reef ever stays the same color. Ok, I know with Platygyra they just don't like bright light. Which is a bit confusing to me, since I just have regular VHO reef lighting, no MH or anything fancy. One of my Favia have turned dark green, the other ( the green with red polyps paled just a little, but the polyps turned ocher.)

On a related matter, if & when Santa comes through, I'll try to get a pic of my colonies sweepers. Man, they are impressive!

Matthew

Ya it did change colors when I got it. It got really dark green. Apparently the colors come out if it doesnt get too much light. So I put my frag under an overhange and have noticed since the orange coming out much more.

Finally got my lil frag uploaded, but you'll see I wasnt holdin out the fireworks ;)

NOT BAD. I do see what you mean by lighting, the part not in direct light seems to have more color(s) in pic 2. Definitely something to think about.
How are your regarding aggression?

Matthew

Whoa..some really nice corals here.

Here is my War and Peace from Tyree...7 months in my tank.

Rich,

Good one. Very nice growth rate.
Whew.. Thought we'd reach the end of the eye candy a few days ago!

That is a nice piece to, Snipersnips. Maybe not flashingly bright, but very nice pastel shade. I've seen an encrusting one like that, but it was the more common green color at my LFS.

Matthew

Thanks Sara...in due time, in due time...:D

Sheol....Better late then never.....thanks as well...growth has been good and the color is looking awesome. It sits on the sand enjoying the current...

Two of mine are on the sand, but one is trying to use the current to get to its neighbor! Cannot quite reach it, but I need to watch it!
