Makes me envious of you guys\gals with colonies and not frags.

justin...i have had a few tank issues lately. lets just say i have lost a couple corals to put it mildly.. i am still intersted in your zoas you had but want to make sure all is stable and healthy before anything leaves or goes in the tank going foward. i could show you some pictures that would leave tears in any LPS junkies eyes. got to love the hobbie. gesh. so maybe in a month or two we can scam eachother.=)

Richard - Sorry to hear about your losses!

Here's an update on the 'blood red' favia. The tank is only lit with a single 10,000K bulb, soooo....

And here's another favia that's been in the tank since last year. It isn't anything amazing, but it is a favia.

Ya, no worries Rich. Hope everything stops acting up and starts acting right for you soon. LPS are fairly hardy and all, but when it rains it pours I know :(

Melev: Well, hopefully mine may go red in the future. Another case of "I know that one, its in my tank". But it started out pale orange..

Rich: Condolences. I've lost a couple colonies 2-3 months ago. I hate that. Dang mushrooms are thriving though..

Justin: Right after we all started hearing about the Baby's Breath & shortly before the birth of this thread, someone started PMing offering me a BB at a "good price". Something kinda kept me from totally taking the bait. And then that person was blacklisted here.

thanks guys for all of your support. the favias are doing well and thriving. it was only hmm just about my entire acan collection.

this thread just keeps on growing steam. peeps posting out of the woodwork. this is truely the best. i think i have seen more beautiful corals in these lps thread lately that i have seen in years at lfs's. it has brought so much attention to that once comonly called pinapple coral.

well here is a few i am eyeing will all of that empty space in the tank. i just need to wait a week or two to make sure all is good.

kev. i beleive i was temp swings and such. it was ugly but all is good now i hope=). in regards to the favias.. Jendub has got in some of the nicest corals i have seen in a while. leave it to the lps gurus to leave no rock unturned.

Richard:

Well, I'm sure I could find a home for that second specimen! That thing is insane! Number 1 ain't too bad either..
Its the Acans that bought it? Funny, I've seen 2-3 threads lately about problems with Acans..
Well, it still sucks. Sorry about your loss.

Sincerely,
Matthew

Summer is always a tough time; excess heat and large temp swings would be my guess. It's usually not one factor but many piling on (ie: low magnesium & high heat). People's tanks get into the 80 degree plus range and most AU lords come out of 74 degree and under water in the wild; it's a recipe for bleaching

Who is jendub? is it a user, or a site?

Jen & Charles, two aquaculturist who run their own website www.jendub.com that sell Signature Series and wysiwwyg LPS corals, I have gotten a few very beautiful corals from them myself and I highly reccommend them!

Very nice favia or micro

Very nice favia or micro

wishntoboutside I really like that 2nd one.

I think I found a real score today from a local tank tear down.

It is some sort of favia or micro not sure.

These pic's are 30 min after putting it in the tank under 14,000k Phoenix only.

I will have to wait a few weeks to see if it will hold this color.

It has a least three colors pink, yellowish/gold eyes, and some version of aqua green.

I will take some better pic' tomorrow.

Colony straight from the camera no adjustments
