Sassafrass: LOVELY, simply gorgeous pics. & yes, c'est possible the polyps in pic 2 might be a wee bit hungry..

Matthew

very nice pics.. some day i will have that camera.. waitn for the next LA riot i guess.
side note.. i got a new one.. wahoo. pics too come

What do most people feed their favia and how often? sorry I am very new to this and am researching these corals as well. Trying to learn!!

Try to find smaller meaty foods like rotifiers or pods that will be easy to digest. Mysis and other freshwater feeds are a detriment to the corals IMO because the corals waste more energy trying to digest them than they can extract from the food.

Has anyone ever seen this type of favia before?

I love it.

We got one like that at work and fragged it up. I got a piece of it. I think it's pretty cool looking :).

That's a nice looking one but looks dangerously close to that Chalice on the left. Don't learn your lesson about Chalice agression the hard way-- like I did!

The chalice is not right next to it, but in the picture it does look like there touching. Thanks for warning me;)

Junior: Holy toledo! Where is everyone finding these killer Favia, when all I can find are decent ones?

Matthew
