Yes they will, but the little Tailspot definately wont have the same appetite.

I agree - the Tailspot is a very small fish and will only eat small amounts of algae.

Here's mine Orange Throat Pike Blenny:

Currently have 2 Blue Throat Pike Blennies.

I have been wanting one of these guys, how is he in your tank and did you put PVC pipe in the substrate for him?

Just purchased a Midas yesterday. Now have to decide on a good algae blenny. So many great choices.

Tribal bennies are awesome! Not seen as often. Starry bennies are very cool as well.

That pic is an older one where I put the PVC in a tip of a barnacle (which you can see in the background) the back half is buried in the substrate.

I currently use abandoned coco worm tubes especially for the BlueThroat Pike blennies as they tend to be a little smaller. Whatever you use I suggest that you slant the tubes upward on an angle up to a little less than 90 degrees. Every one I have had, and every pic I have seen in the wild have them in tubes or holes facing either straight up, to at least on an angle.

Sigmund. Thanks the info. I think I will order one from LA and will look around for coco worm tubes or the PVC. and issues with the PVC floating up from the substrate or do you wedge a rock over it?

I had one for about a month and he's becoming one of my favorite fish. He is pretty active going from perch to perch scraping at algae and when I approach the tank he's always one of the first to greet me. Also, when he gets excited his war paint gets really vivid.

So, Sigmund, what other fish/inverts do you keep with your pike blenny? They're very interesting to me, but have got awfully big mouths.

BlueThroat is about 3.5 inches

20 Gallon Nano:
1 TwinSpot goby
1 Blue Throat Pike Blenny (about 2inches)

I fed my OrangeThroat a guppy once just to see if he would eat it. He did. Have never had any problems with mine and other reef fish. Even the biggest Orange throat I had was still only as thick as a pencil, won't try to eat it unless it's small and thin.

I usually mount the PVC to a barnacle to keep it from floating, plus it makes it look more natural. Go with the CoCo worm tubes if you can find them, works great and looks better.

I love my midas blenny probably the coolest fish in the tank right now. sometimes he'll be pitch black then instantly change to orange-yellow color. A lot of the time he has a purple color to him as well. Very active swimmer

I will add midas to the count as well. Mine used to hide in the rocks and look generally creepy. He looked brown with horns but then he pops out and every one says oh he's so cute.

I've had quite a few blennies: lawnmower, midas, canary, scooter, etc.

If I had to pick one, I would get a mandarin, assuming I had the pods to satisfy. I have a Midas right now. He's big too for a Midas blenny. About 5 inches and thick. He looks peaceful but he can be really aggressive which surprised me. He picks fights with fish twice his size. Chevron Tang and Majestic Angel.
