I've never kept one, but the first fish that popped into my head that really blew me away as far as color/pattern go has to go to the Black-backed Wrasse (Anampses neoguinaicus). Though I don't think it's a "popular" fish?

Love the wrasse, the diamond tail appears to be a newer acquisition. Truly a stunning fish. Did you get yours from Michael?

My favorite fish so far have been;
Zebra moray eel - had so much personality
Japanese/Hawaiian dragon moray eel - just look and act so badass
Regal angel - Red sea species
Yellow tang - My one made the tank, perfect fish

morays are definitely a favorite of mine as well. eels in general, but those dragon morays are really something else i gotta agree.

Yeah I know, theres just something about them that I love! started up my first tank because of them.
And yeah the dragons are just sooo cool
getting one in a few weeks time so am proper excited haha

oh thats so awesome!!! you HAVE to send me pictures. im actually on my way to a disney cruise and will be snorkeling in the bahamas and castaway cay, so hopefully i get some good pictures for everyone. glad this post is getting so much attention

And wow sounds nice! loved snorkeling the last time I went, am proper jealous haha

Went snorkelling in the red sea off the coast of Egypt, and was soo beautiful, saw lionfish, butterfly's, Fully grown sohal tangs and yellow bellied regal angels which looked amazing in the reefs!
Is great to see the fish we keep in there natural habitats as well as in our homes right

im so jealous! that sounds beyond amazing. if i see anything close to that im sure ill be crying in my snorkel mask lol. im so thankful i got an underwater camera for this trip. ill be sure to keep an eye out for morays for you!
