favorite fish?

I think I am going to go with a Copperband Butterfly. Not that I have it. Just looks cool and gets rid of aiptasia.

I love blennies, can't beat them for personality.

But nothing neater than seeing a group of hungry lionfish waiting to be fed, absolutely stunning even when you don't have their undivided attention.

I've never kept one, but the first fish that popped into my head that really blew me away as far as color/pattern go has to go to the Black-backed Wrasse (Anampses neoguinaicus). Though I don't think it's a "popular" fish? :)

(not my picture, credit to jawsee here on reefcentral for the beautiful photo.)

I like this fish too. Fell for it when I saw him at a lfs. Very hardy and surprisingly peaceful. Simple colors but it looks amazing.

Don't have any good pics but my favorites are the Scarus Quoyi, sargassum trigger, and the clown tang... And of course my avatar fish

Marshall has a great list but my favorite is Chelmon muelleri.

You disappoint me Brett; that's not a Wrasse! :)

wow you must really love wrasses! lol :)

What gave you that idea?!

Love the wrasse, the diamond tail appears to be a newer acquisition. Truly a stunning fish. Did you get yours from Michael?

Actually I have had mine for almost a year now, just the bets pics of him flashing were while he was in the acclimation box LOL. Got him from DD last September. I did try two from Michael previous to the DD purchase, but first came in rough shape and only lasted 24 hours; the second DOA. Just so I don't seem to be hating on Michael in any way, since then I have placed a few additional orders with Michael and been very happy, including my C. cf lanceolatus.

Another favorite!

one of my favorites as well. had to build the feeder that i found somewhere in this forum for mine, he loved it. nothing cuter than watching them scoot around and peck at everything like tiny chickens!

If you take the level of enjoyment and divide it by cost, my yellow tail damsels are at the top of the list. Model citizens, bright colors, and four bucks each. Because they are damsels, people assume they are super aggressive...not so.

personally im not a huge fan, just from seeing them kill entire tanks of things much bigger than them. but ive had yellowtail azure damsels that were wonderful and never harmed a thing. they can be a catch 22.

Tough question, if were going by looks here, nothing beats a moorish idol IMO But in my own tank, Im gonna have to go with my zebra moray :D . Definitely a conversation piece and so far a model citizen (loves to hang out in his cave with 'Dexter' the blood shrimp and 'Voodoo' the cleaner shrimp)

he has no problem with the shrimp and hasnt eaten them? thats awesome. and zebra morays are beautiful! definitely on my list.

My Yellow Breasted Male Lyretail Anthias is my current favorite. His color is just amazing in person. Here's a cell photo of him, it really doesn't do him justice:

Neontreefrog - nope. He's around 28" long now and the shrimp clean inside his mouth and ride him around like one of those little trains at the mall :bounce1:
