feather duster not retracting?!?

So I just bought 2 feather dusters at the LFS. As soon as the girl put the net in the tank, they yanked back in their tubes. Good! I thought. Now a 5 minutes car trip later I'm acclimating them and noticing they dont react at all. They didn't even retract when I pulled them out of the water to put them in my tank. They can't possibly both have suddenly died of a 5 minutes transit?

its real easy to tell if they are dead or not. gently squeeze the tube.....If they are alive you will know it

I cant imagine what would kill them that quick unless your salinity was drastically higher than that of the lfs, or something else drastic happened in the transit

Did they survive? Hanging out of the tube is never a good sign with feather dusters.

I guess it was just the shock of the move; they're acting normal now
