Feather Dusters?

Anyone else have a ton of little feather dusters growing in their sandbed? Is it a good sign or bad?

I've seen tanks with them and without... neither good/nor bad...

You can look at it so many ways:

1) Good: They are reproducing so the tank is healthy and they are happy.

2) Bad: They are filter feeders, if they are reproducing there is a lot of "stuff" in the water for them.

Many times it's a phase... they will settle down to a level that is sustainable in your tank.

I would say typically its a good sign. I had them until my Copper Band Butterfly fish ate every feather duster in the tank!
