Feed me Seymour

Well, I would like to think so but that was the only dwarf zebra in that tank and it was cruising around that turbo snail on the right side of the pic about 15 minutes before I discovered what was happening. So unless the hermit kicked the bucket during that time... I guess anything is possible.

Interesting... I'd be curious to see if the paly spits out a shell, would clear up the questions of how it got there :)

I think the hermit was killed by something else and the leg was ripped from the torso. Possible high current shot it across the oral disc of the paly and there was possibly some flesh still attached to the claw and the paly grab it. Once the paly consumed said flesh, he dropped the leg. I doubt very seriously that the paly consumed the hermit. Just my opinion is all.

Very interesting picture to say the least. Thanks for sharing it.

MUCHO REEF

Interesting and possible, I don't know what would have ripped the hermit apart though. The only other inhabitants are one turbo snail and some misc. rescue soft corals from my larger reef system. The tank that these palys are in is a 8 gallon biocube. Due to the small size of the tank I only had the one hermit crab in the tank. The entire main claw was enveloped with no sign of it in the tank.

I found a blue leg hermit sticking out of a small Ricordea florida mouth in my tank a few weeks ago. The mouth was seriously gaped. I assume that the blue leg died and the MP10 set it adrift.
