Feedback on reef keeper elite

I have a reefkeeper! personally wish i would have got an apex to be able to program it a bit more but it was out of my budget!

i just googled and a reefkeeper elite is $400, i think people had more money back in the day, which is why you got more responses =)

I think that this topic has been debated to death. No one wants to bash a company on here. That said my suggestion having owned a Reefkeeper elite, the Archon and an Apex is save your money and buy an Apex.

There is really no comparison between the two. Reliability, responsiveness, interface and options are all better with the Apex. Just my 2 cents.

Ok because I found a elite for $200 with the salinity module the moon light module and 3 power strips just wanted some feed back from the local guys. I was looking into the apex you can remote access on that one and control the tank correct ?

The salinity module never worked for me. And yes I had the sl2v2 "fixed" version that I had to wait over a year for. It was always drifting one way or another so I ended up just not using it as it was only accurate immediately after calibration and it is easier just to take a salinity reading with a refractometer.

3 power strips and the controller and the sl2v2 for 200 is a good deal though. My advice still stands though. Save your money.

Both systems can be remote accessed (provided you get the NET module for the RKE). The difference is the RKE made me want to gouge out my own eyes with its slowness and constant failures to load. The apex is quick and has yet to experience any sort of failure in the year it has been on my tank.
