feeding anemone

I recently purchased my first anemone yesterday along with a clownfish, condylactis, I believe. Is it recommended to feed it with a turkey baster in its general direction, and how often and what amount is recommended, I have brine shrimp to feed it. Also I have the T5 light with the 2x54 watt bulbs, is this enough, he is in a 55gallon, it is 48" light. I was going to feed daily and a small amount.

Thanks

Feeding a small amount is the right idea, though I would maybe feed every other day. If it's in good health already, it shouldn't need daily feedings to stay that way. There are many people who don't feed their anemones at all.

Depending on where it decides to park itself in your tank, your lighting might be enough, but if it starts to lose coloration (most condylactics are predominantly a deep tan color) you might need to add an extra bulb or two.

Another thing to be aware of is that Condylactis anemones have been known to eat clownfish from time to time.

I like mine to grow nice and healthy, I have an 8in lta and a 6in lta and feed them both a quarter piece of shrimp every 4days, and whatever the clowns spit him via brine shrimp every other day. They are both extremely happy and fully extended all the time. Also have 2 baby Bunudosoma anemones that i also feed pieces of shrimp and ora hatchery food and they love it, one of the baby's got a larger piece of shrimp than i thought he could handle but he downed it straight away and was unable to fully close he was so stuffed lol, was terribly cute. Personnaly I don't like to underfeed nems, my LFS doesn't feed them and they always look close to death in their tanks, it is were I rescued the 2 lta's from and a week after taking them home they ate and expanded double their size and have been happy ever since.

on another note I would wait at least a week for the anemone to find a place to settle into before trying to feed it, it is likely stressed and may move around a while till it finds a comfortable spot, only intervene if it gets into a spot that could be dangerous to it.
