Feeding Anemones

Wanting to know what everyone is feeding their Anemones?

I have been feeding scallop to them 2 times a week, anything wrong with this?

What else can I offer?

I got a frozen Medley from grocery. 2.98 per pound. I just feed my anemone with this mixture of sea food. Cheap and good for them.

Yep I do the same, feed mine Seafood Medley from Publix.

I will have to see if we have seafood medley here in our stores in Canada where I live, I don't recall it but I am sure one of them would have it.

Is it true that feeding scallop will cause water quality issues?

I have not seen any issues from feeding raw seafood. I feed them directly though, I don't just throw it in.

When I feed it's usually just some frozen krill or large freshwater mysis. Once I have a clown host I don't bother feeding them anymore. Thats their job

no, no issues because they eat it right up. when they digest it later and spit it out, the snails, crabs, fish, pods, etc...get it.

I have 4 of these anemones in a 3 gal, I do not have fish in the tank as its to small. I have 1 hermit crab, 2 nassarius snails, and one porcelain crab.

Water is still cloudy (if you read my posts about the issues I have been having it explains it all)

Things are better now that what I think the issue was is out of the tank. I am running new carbon today, a water change and some purigen as well.

But you say they spit it out when they digest it in my situation of no fish will these be a long term issue?

I feed mine the frozen fish food I have, brine shrip, mysis, whatever I have at the time. I cut off a slice of the frozen block and feed it to them with my hemostats. They gooble it right down!

Um...you have 4 anemones in a 3 gallon? That may be your problem there...

I was thinking the same thing as well. Maybe just to many even though others say its not. I have a fellow that is buying to 2 Mini Max Anemones and I am not parting with my Rock Flower Anemone, its just to nice to part with.

Maybe once these are out of the tank everything will balance out once again. Just waiting to hear from him for delivery either tomorrow or Friday.

Would just like to know, what if any pests are there that bother or can kill Anemones?
