Those things are awful... They're tough and do not stay stuck to the shell. I threw my bag away. Muscles and clams from the frozen seafood section are good. You can always remove the clam/muscle if it is too much for the fish.

I just get my stuff from a local seafood store. Might cost more but it's usually much fresher. When feeding finicky fish, I'll first mince the meat a little with a razor blade and place it in a higher flow area so it 'moves' a bit.

I have sometimes sliced my clams up, but I try not to make them TOO EASY to eat, it gives the fish something to do. Angels have very sharp little teeth, it doesnt look like it but if you get a good macro shot of their mouths they are like a little shark :) They can do a lot of damage to a clam over time and get lots of food off it, plus be entertained for a while.

Here's my old queen angel's teeth, just for an example.

My grocery store has them for sure, but seafood stores will also have them. My angels and butterfly fish love them.

I agree. They like going after them.

Wow. Glad that fish is not any larger!!!

Yes, if they could walk on land we would be in trouble :) I've got a good picture of my emperor's teeth and my regal angel's teeth, both look like what you picture a shark's mouth being except more teeth and they are a little more needle like, than blade like.

I freeze fresh mussels and feed them to my fish. I find it best to open them and leave the shells together. Half Shells get flipped over and the fish can't get to the meat.

Your angel will know exactly how to eat them imo. Unfortunately, my collare ate them exclusively which I feel might have led to it's demise. I get a great deal on mine : 50 live clams for $15 - dinner for me, wifey & the fish @ Wegmans.
