feeding FW cherry shrimps to Fishes/seahorses

Hey guys, i have a huge population of cherry shrimps breeding heavily in my planted tank..... can i feed them to a lionfish or seahorse? or can i culture brine, enrich them with good quality flakes and spirullina to feed seahorses and lionfish?

ghost shrimps fry dont survive and i dont have space and time to breed them, since its a task....

I wouldn't use it for a staple but it won;t hurt as long as they are getting needs else where IMO. Just because cherry's are FW I would suspect they don't have the specific amino acids and such that your SW fish need. I had planned to do the same but they didn't breed well for me and then I ended up breaking down the tank I had them in to use for a qt tank.

well if its ok to feed ghost shrimps gut loaded, then why not cherry? they r breeding like crazy in my tank......

Are FW shrimp bad to use? PE mysis are freshwater, and everyone raves about them.

Shrimp flesh is a bit different than fish flesh...altho IME, cherry shrimp were always a bit "touchy", and I doubt they'd live as long as ghosties in FW. As long as you enrich them with a good marine flake food, there's no reason not to rotate them into the menu.

This I am assuming is your NTP?
Saddly I had to rip mine down. Don't know why but diatoms just ravaged my tank covering everything. We loved that tank. People who came in the house loved it as much if not more than the reef.
I had a beautiful breeding pair of Angles I had to give up as well.

But now I have a regular 29gal to move everything into and out of my hex.
Ocean Rider has a great supplement to gut load shimp etc..... with.

Cherry shrimp only last a few minutes in saltwater. I've used them in emergencies, but if the seahorses doesn't spot them right away, they die. So yes, for emergencies they're probably a great source if your able to get them in front of the seahorses right away. But only as a supplement; not a staple.
