Feeding nori

Gives Bad Advice.
Dumb question.

I've been dropping a 5x2 piece into my tank on a clip.

How long do you leave it for? Phosphates were at .58 yesterday after feeding the day prior. .28 the next.

Am I doing it wrong?

I wouldn't leave the Nori in the tank for any longer than 12 hours or so. Then again, the amount of Nori I am putting in the tank is usually consumed in a matter of minutes.

I agree with the fact that it should be totally gone in under 30 minutes. If it's not, I'd pull it. But the nori I feed with a clip is usually gone in under 5 minutes.

I usually put in 3 pieces of around 4x8 and let them nibble all day. If they are not gone by bedtime, I will take them out. I only have 4 tangs (Tomini doesn't eat it) and I have 2 large angels and 3 Dwarfs.

I buy Nori from the Asian market, and cut each sheet into 4 pieces. (4X5 approx.). I feed one piece a day. It is usually gone within 5 min. I have 5 Tangs and a Foxface. The Fairy Wrasses and Longnose like to nipple on it as well.

In addition to the Nori, I feed about 2 cubes of frozen food, and a meal of flakes.

Fish look very healthy and active.

Am I underfeeding?
