Feeding yellow tang

Hi,

I added a juvenile Yellow Tang to my 130g system a few weeks ago. Its a relatively new tank, cycled a couple of months before this addition.

There is quite a bit of algae on the LR that he can eat, but I'm trying to feed him nori (the Julian Sprung "designer seaweed") - attached to a clip and put near his favourite hideout. It just gets ignored - one of my damsels likes to rip a bit off.

I left a piece in there for about 20 mins on three ocassinos with no success. Any ideas? Is there a best time or strategy to get him eating? Tang looks a bit thin, I don't want him to get ich.

Water parameters test good, and he doesn't seem to be otherwise stressed. Having said that I'm new to the hobby, so his behaviour could be abnormal and I wouldn't *really* know it.

The nori will be hit or miss for awhile, just keep trying it. All my fish that eat nori learned from one of my tangs. Just put a little piece in everyday

I have yet to be able to get any of my tangs to eat nori in QT, they just swim past the clip as if it doesn't exist. Yet, get them into the display with other tangs that attack the clip, and the new fish gets it almost immediately.

same here. they never eat it in qt but once in the display with the others they eat it like any other tang.
