Fell for a new anemone

I went to the LFS to kill some time during work and saw that they had a carpet that was being neglected. No light and was really bleached. I asked what kind it was and no one had an answer for me. (I think it's a haddoni but I'm not expert) I asked for a price any way just for some amusement. I couldn't believe the price so I snatched it up in hopes that I can save it. I asked if I can remove it from the glass since none of them seemed to know how to massage the foot off and they gladly let me. The tentacles were very sticky and mouth was shut tight which I was glad to see! Let's hope all goes well with this new adventure. Going to see how it does without treatment for a few days before I decide to treat it!

Yeah, looks like a bleached haddoni, but with proper conditions, you should be able to get it back to normal.

Well after one day. It attached itself to a small rock and is still inflated and has a closed mouth. I know that I'm by no means in the clear, I've read a few threads where people dose when it's not needed any ran into issues. (Or something similar to that) I'm going to see how it does until Saturday and I'll put it in my DT. I may try feeding on Sunday but I'm not sure if it's too early for that... Maybe I should wait a week to feed. What do you guys think?

Quick update:
The nem was looking good in the QT so I put it in my DT on Saturday. I turned the pumps off for about 15min and it was able to attach it's foot. It's settled in between the rock and the sand bed. I'm thinking of giving it a tiny piece of salmon tomorrow that I have frozen. Hopefully it eats! Mouth is still tight and tentacles still pretty sticky. Everything still seems to look good, I can't wait to see what color it ends up being.

It's a tan S. Haddoni, sorry to ruin the surprise :o.

Take good care of him, I would not be surprise if he turn light green.

I really hope that's how he turns out.

I'm going to feed him a tiny piece of salmon when I get back from work today. Should the feeding response be similar to my gig?

Well here we are two months later and there is a drastic difference. The nem is doing great! I never had to treat it at all! I'm feeding it every 2 weeks or so and it has shown some growth and got ALOT of color!! So far it's green and has hints of blue towards the outside but maybe I'm just seeing things. It's currently in a weird position so it's a bad picture but at least you'll be able to see the color!

Nice turnaround and very interesting color. Bleached nems can be very rewarding. No telling how they will color up and sometimes you end up with quite a steal.

Thank you everyone! I wouldn't have been able to do it without the knowledge on these forums. I'm just happy I didn't have to go to the extent of treatment and that I was able to bring it back!
