Femal occelaris killed mate

My female occ. killed what I thought was her mate for the last year. These were the first 2 fish I bought and they got along fine until I added a Haddoni carpet. She soon started chasing and biting the other clown. There were never any real signs of submission from the one that got killed, it would turn sideways but didn't do the shimmy. I think I may have had 2 females all along that just lived peacefully until the carpet came into the picture. They never fought over the btas in my tank, maybe because there were 5 of them.

How long should I wait until I try to introduce a small, hopefully male occ.? Ans would it be ok to add a few small ones for a community type setup?

Go over to AQOB and Will might still have some really small percs or ocellaris. Get the smallest one and becareful introducing.

Your good just be careful and defff float the bag to see if the clown has any reaction to the smaller one.

Most likely it is a female already, you need to hope the new male knows how to show her submissive behavior.
