Hey guys,

Im kinda new to this whole thing and I have a pari of mated Clarkii Clowns from New Guinea. The female has started to clear a spot in the sand in front of a rock. I was wondering what she is doing whether she is laying eggs soon or if this is just normal process! If she does lay eggs what do I do from here?

if she lays eggs then congratulations! check out the breeding forum for tips on the food needed to raise clowns. It's a bit o work so if you are interested - the info is out there. joyce wilkerson has a great book called "Clownfishes" also.

I had a single clarkii that used to do that all the time! It drove me nuts because the sand would get all over the corals.

I have a mated pair of Clarkii's. The always sweep away all of the sand in and around their cave. The lay eggs in the cave (on a rock) about twice a month.

Thats would be awesome! I am willing to try to raise em once I will have to check out the books and articles on how to do so! Thanks for the info guys!

I am def intersted in trying to succesfully breed them but there is quite the process. If I dont not get my rotifers and plankton ready in time it states to not woory they lay eggs usually pretty frequently. But at that point what do I do with the frye that r in the tank? Do they become food?
