Female tomato clown passes away

So my 14 years old female tomato clown passed away 2 days ago. It was a mated pair. Laid eggs every 2 weeks like clock work. Now I'm left with the small male. From what I read is that the male will turn into female if left alone. If I decide to add another tomato, should I wait till it changes female or just add a smaller or larger one now? Please advise with any info

Add a smaller one. Your existing one should turn female and the newly added small one will turn male.
