Fighting Ich ( tank transfer method ) Questions.

The K.I.S.S method would steer you away from using water from the display, because you could also be introducing other things that cause the fish to get sick ie. a bacteria or parasite. Any function of filtering the water to the extent to remove all the offending illnesses you would most likely be removing the salt in the water as well. Why not spend the $5.00 in salt you would need to set up a QT tank. Then set the temp and the sg to the same as in the display (unless you are going for a hypo salinity state) and then treat with what ever medication suits the illness. That way you know the water is clean of all possible problems. The fishes immune system is already weak from just the shipping alone or whatever illness it may already have. Why introduce another variable in to the equation. Remember K.I.S.S.

Hi, sorry to jump in but, i'm new to the hobby and i have a flame angel in the QT with ich and i can't treat it with copper because, it's very sensitive to it and it won't eat if i have the treatment in the tank..... so now i have no treatment in the tank and it's eating like crazy... but the ich is still on him( it's only one speck) i have been trying the hyper salinity method but its still there any answers on how long this should take or what should i do????
