Filefish compatability

Everyone,

I currently have an orange spotted filefish in quarantine. She is doing great and will be going into my DT in a few weeks.

I was considering buying an Mattled/ or a Tassled Filefish to combat an Aiptasia outbreak. I have already tried the AiptasiaX route with good success....but there are many that I cannot get to.

Has anyone ever kept both types of filefish without any problems? Of so....I will go the route of th berghia nudibrachs.

Thanks in advance.

1) I went with berghia nudibranch.. they are extremely expensive and takes a LONG time to see any effect.. A LONG TIME. generations of nudis.. unless you spend a few hundred bucks and buy a ton of them to seed.. it will take months

2) in a 65gal, I'm not sure about 2 filefish.. my matted file fish was a proven aptasia eater.. but in my tank, he only eats pods.. I have a massive aptasia outbreak too..

3) save the money and buy yourself 10 peppermint shrimps.. they will take care of the problem within a few weeks. easier to catch too using a 2 liter bottle trap

Should have added.....it's a 65g mixed reef. Stocklist is a O. Clown, Helfrichi firefish, Pink Streaked Wrasse, Yellow Assessor Basslet, 1 skunk cleaner shrimp, 1 fire shrimp.

I have read that the Berghia's can take a long time and are expensive. I just figured that with the Berghia's, I could just place them in the DT.

With the Pepermint shirmp... I would probably quarantine them first to make sure they are healthy and don't transport any diseases. This would take a bit longer.

Good thread, saw it the day you posted. Got me to thinking of mixing lol a thread else where and I'm going to look for an orange spotted to go with my green/matted that I already have in my 125 eating whatever is provided (mysis, brine, or LRS chunky I mince).
