files always exceed 50k

i have tried infan view and another and cannot get my pics to upload in my gallery please help . i have a kodiac 3.1mega pixel camera.

are your pictures saved as jpg?
if so and your still having problems try using http://www.imageresizer.com/

Try Microsoft Image Composer---it's good at reducing pictures for the web without overmuch fuss---click export to the web and it offers you 3 different densities appropriate for web display.
